A native of Colombia, South America, Ani Espriella grew up in the culturally rich city of Miami working as a singer for 20 years. She moved to Longmont Colorado in 2003, and inspired by it’s natural beauty, turned to the visual arts. She’s been painting in oils and pastels since 2005, and has taken classes and workshops with Jake Gaedtke, Jeff Legg, Elizabeth Robbins, Dan Beck, Chuck Ceraso, Desmond O’Hagan and Marc Hanson. Ani teaches oils and pastels and currently shows her artwork at Mary Williams Fine Art in Boulder, Arts Longmont Gallery in Longmont, and at Bella Muse Gallery in Ogden, UT. Ani has won several awards for her work including People’s Choice in the 2015 Louisville Art Association National Show. Ani was also juried into the 2015 and 2107 Governor’s Show in Loveland and the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Plein Air Artists of Colorado Shows. She is currently a member of Pastel Society of Colorado, and Plein Air Artists of Colorado. Ani is also a board member of Arts Longmont and volunteers much of her time to the arts community in Longmont.
